High tide at Cowes is expected at 08:50 Wednesday morning (27/11/2024). From 11:00 27/11/2024 properties situated nearest to the river in Marsh Road will experience garden flooding. Property flooding is not expected. Most of the rain has now cleared the area and the rest of the day will be dry. The river will continue to rise until 13:00 27/11/2024, before it can drain with the lowering tide. We continue to monitor the forecast. We will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. At high tide, please keep away from the river at Gurnard Road Bridge. Water will be deep and fast flowing. The water level in the Gurnard Luck at Marsh Road is high and rising. In the last 48 hours, nearly 50mm of rain has been recorded at Cowes. This is a large amount in a short period of time.
High tide at Cowes is at 22:00 this evening (08/02/2024). From midnight, properties situated nearest to the river in Marsh Road will experience garden flooding. Property flooding is not expected.
Further rain is forecast overnight with up to 15mm possible. The river will continue to rise until 01:00, before it can drain with the lowering tide. However, with more rain expected, garden flooding may reoccur at the next high tide expected at 10:15 (09/02/2024).
We continue to monitor the forecast. We will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. At high tide, please keep away from the river at Gurnard Road Bridge. Water will be deep and fast flowing.

This is a modest amount, but it follows a period of prolonged wet weather. High tide at Cowes was at 14:57 this afternoon. From 16:15 properties situated nearest to the river in Marsh Road will experience garden flooding. The river will continue to rise until 18:00 before it can drain with the lowering tide. Small amounts of rain are forecast for the remainder of today. Tomorrow (03/01/2024), the weather will remain dry. However, further rainfall is forecast for Thursday (04/01/2024). We continue to monitor the forecast. We will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. While water levels are high, please keep away from the river at Gurnard Road Bridge. The water level in the Gurnard Luck remains very high. Yesterday (Wednesday 20/10/21) 55mm of rain was recorded in Cowes. This is a very significant amount of rain in a short period of time. High tide at Cowes is expected at 12:18 this afternoon (21/10/21). The river will rise for 2 hours after time of high water (until 14:20) before it will be able to drain with the lowering tide. Properties nearest to the river in Marsh Road will experience garden flooding throughout this period. The water level will be much higher than it was yesterday lunchtime (20/10/21). Over the next few days the weather will be dry. At high tide in the early hours of Friday morning (00:27 on 22/10/21) the river will remain a little elevated, but overall the situation will improve. From tomorrow morning onwards, no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. During times of high tide stated above, please keep away from the river at Gurnard Road Bridge. Water will be deep and fast flowing. This message will be removed by 17:00 on Thursday 21/10/2021.

The water level in the Gurnard Luck is high and rising. In the last 12 hours, 30mm of rain has been recorded in Cowes. This is a large amount in a short period of time. High tide at Cowes is at 11:45 this morning (20/10/21). The river will rise for 3 hours after high water (until 14:45) before the river can drain with the lowering tide. Properties nearest to the river in Marsh Road may experience garden flooding throughout this period. Further rain is forecast later this afternoon and overnight with between 20 to 40mm expected. At high tide tonight (23:55 on 20/10/21) and tomorrow lunchtime (12:20 on 21/10/21), river levels could be similar or slightly higher than experienced today. Garden flooding may therefore occur for several hours over each high water. We continue to monitor the forecast. We will keep the river clear of reported blockages. High tide at Cowes is expected at 11:00 this morning (05/10/21). From 13:00, the water level could become high enough to cause garden flooding to properties located immediately next to the river in Marsh Road (Gurnard). The weather will remain settled and dry over the next 5 days. The river will rise until 14:00 this afternoon. It will then begin to drain with the lowering tide. From 16:00 onwards, no further impacts are expected from the river. We continue to monitor the forecast, and will remove any reported blockages. The water level in the Gurnard Luck is high and rising. In the last 8 hours, more than 20mm of rain has been recorded at Cowes. This is a modest amount, but it follows a few days of wet weather. High tide at Cowes is expected at 12:30 this afternoon (09/08/21). The river will continue to rise and will remain high for at least 3 hours after time of high water (15:30), before it can drain with the lowering tide. Between 14:00 and 15:30, properties nearest to the river, in Marsh Road, may experience garden flooding. Showers will continue to affect the island until at least 16:00 this afternoon. At Gurnard, the showers are unlikely to bring large totals of rain, so after high tide, it is unlikely that further impacts will occur from the river. We continue to monitor the forecast, and will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. The water level in the Gurnard Luck is high and rising. In the last 9 hours, 20 mm of rain has been recorded at Cowes. This is a fairly large amount of rain in a short period of time. High tide at Cowes is expected at 12:01. The river will continue to rise for at least 3 hours after time of high water, before it can drain with the lowering tide. From 14:00, the river may cause garden flooding to properties located next to the river at Marsh Road. Further showers are expected from midday onwards, and they could continue for most of the afternoon. The river will be elevated on the early Sunday morning tide, expected at 00:34 (31/01/2021), but it should cause less impact. We continue to monitor the forecast. We will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. Water levels in the Gurnard Luck are high and rising. In the last 9 hours, 20mm of rain has been recorded at Cowes. It is currently high tide at Cowes. The tide is much higher than normal and is currently preventing the river from draining to sea. From midday today, the river may begin to flood gardens at Marsh Road, Gurnard. Property flooding is not expected. Rain has now cleared the area and the river should peak around 13:00 this afternoon and then fall with the lowering tide. Some heavy showers are forecast later on this afternoon. This evening’s high tide at 22:54 will also be higher than normal. Some minor impact flooding to gardens may also occur then. We continue to monitor the forecast and will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. Until water levels fall after high tide, please keep away from the river at Gurnard Road Bridge, water will be deep and fast flowing. Water levels in the Gurnard Luck are high and rising. In the last 24hours, 30mm of rain has been recorded at Cowes. This afternoon’s tide expected at 17:00 on 16/02/2020 is not overly high, but it will cause the river to rise until 18:00. In that time, properties sited next to the river in Marsh Road may experience garden flooding. From 18:00 onwards, the river should begin to drain with the tide and no further impacts are expected. Tomorrow (Monday 17/02/2020) only very small amounts of rain are forecast and the situation should improve. We continue to monitor the forecast.
